Paint from a public ledger. Palettes are events of its history. Brush strokes that stagger and mass according to over a decade of value computation. Opulent open metrics. An on-chain Bitcoin ordinals project.
Takens Theorem (twitter.com/takenstheorem) is a cryptothematic data analyst, visualist, and writer. His visual pieces challenge the divide between data and art and operate such that their aesthetic variations — their axes, colours, orientations, and scales — all map in some way to specific elements of data. Moreover, his works explore themes of time and scale, interconnectedness, and technological transformation so as to connect cold raw data to human cultural experiences, especially with a focus on the transformative potential of cryptographic and blockchain technologies. Takens's previous projects have included fully on-chain contract-based creations such as “the_coin” (2021), “Gaussian Timepieces” (2021), and “The Mesh” (2022). He has also shared larger-scale visualisations in projects like “Ethstory” (2021) and “Reflective Recursion” (2022; on KnownOrigin). Many of his projects have had charitable goals, with most of their proceeds going to humanitarian or public-goods initiatives. Since 2019, his writings and crypto-themed visualisations have been featured in CoinDesk, Etherscan, NFT Now, OpenSea, and beyond.
